Best of Jackson Hole Wildlife Private Safari Tour

Overview

Thousands of mule deer, elk, moose, big horn sheep and bison migrate into the valley in search of food each year along with coyotes, fox, bald and golden eagles, swans, and even packs of wolves. This gathering of wintering wildlife makes winter one of the best times to view wildlife in Jackson Hole!

After a full morning in the field we will enjoy lunch together at a local eatery before heading back out for the afternoon. When available, we will take a horse drawn sleigh through the National Elk Refuge into the middle of the largest wild elk herd in North America. Following the sleigh ride, we will head back into the field to spot more wildlife.

Private safaris have no age minimum.
For groups of 14 guests or less: We have a 48-hour cancellation policy for all single day safaris and a 14-day cancellation policy for all 2-3 day safaris. For multi-day safaris of 4 days or more, we have a 30-day cancellation policy. Cancellations made before the policy goes into effect will receive a full refund with no penalty. Cancellations made within the cancellation policy period will not be refunded. For groups of 15 or more guests: We have a 30-day cancellation policy. Cancellations made before the policy goes into effect will receive a refund minus a 10% fee. Cancellations made within the cancellation policy period will not be refunded. We highly recommend obtaining travel insurance before your departure to protect you from incurring any costs associated with unforeseen circumstances that prevent you from joining us.

We loved our full day tour with Jeramey! He was so friendly and asked us right away what we were hoping to see and do and he tried his best to make it happen for us. We were able to see some moose, sheep, elk, bison, bald eagles, etc. earlier in the week, so we asked if he could bring us to some spots to possibly see some wolves, coyotes, or a fox. Unfortunately, we weren't able to find a wolf (knew it was a long shot), but he delivered on the coyote and fox! He was also so so great with pointing out opportunities for fantastic photos.

This tour is exceptional. We, family of six, parents plus four daughters- ages 19 to 24, had a spectacular day! Jeffrey Meehan was our guide and he was outstanding. His knowledge, and ability to share it and connect with our family was to be applauded. We saw so much beautiful wildlife and landscape too! There was a lot of snow when we were there. Jeffrey was a safe driver and very attentive to us as guest. As part of our tour we visited the Elk Refuge. He had blankets that were water proof on one side and super warm on the other for each member of our family. Fantastic. We will never forget this trip. It was incredible.

We spent the day with Jeffrey exploring around Jackson Hole and Grand Teton National Park. We checked every box on our animal wish list! It was a long day, but it never felt that way. Jeffrey was extremely knowledgeable and personable, so we enjoyed our day with him. There was always something amazing around the next bend. Part of our tour included a sleigh ride on the National Elk Refuge. Due to the location of the elk that day, it was a bit of a waste of time. We enjoyed the novelty of the sleigh ride and the team leader was knowledgeable and engaging, but it was very cold and we’d seen the elk much closer earlier in the day. I’d definitely repeat the safari with Jeffrey. It was time well spent.
