Best of Jackson Hole Wildlife Safari Tour

Overview

Thousands of mule deer, elk, moose, big horn sheep and bison migrate into the valley in search of food each year along with coyotes, fox, bald and golden eagles, swans, and even packs of wolves. This gathering of wintering wildlife makes winter one of the best times to view wildlife in Jackson Hole!

After a full morning in the field we will enjoy lunch together at a local eatery before heading back out for the afternoon. When available, we will take a horse drawn sleigh through the National Elk Refuge into the middle of the largest wild elk herd in North America. Following the sleigh ride, we will head back into the field to spot more wildlife.

The minimum age for wildlife safaris is 8 years old. (Private safaris have no age minimum.)
We have a 48-hour cancellation policy for all single day wildlife safaris. Cancellations made before the cancellation policy goes into effect will receive a full refund. Cancellations made within 48 hours of departure, and before the day of departure will receive a 50% refund. Cancellations or no-shows on the day of departure will not be refunded. We strongly recommend travel insurance in order to protect you from unforeseen travel interruptions that prevent you from joining us.

Your wildlife safari may stop here. Your guide will educate you on the historical or geological significance of your stop. All stops are dependent on the road conditions, weather conditions and needs or interests of each group.

Guide Brett was one of the most knowledgeable wildlife professionals I have had the opportunity to enjoy. In addition to wildlife, Brett provided local historical background that made our tour memorable. Looking forward to the next safari.

Dave was a wonderful tour guide and we had such a great time! We saw a variety of animals and had a 3 dog day (coyote, wolf, and fox)! It was worth every penny!! The sleigh ride was also a cool experience. I recommend this tour to anyone coming to Jackson wanting to see wildlife and explore the area.

We went for a full day private safari tour on Monday (02/15) with Jody. It was one of the best tour experiences we had. Jody is fun, informative, accommodating, and a wealth of knowledge about local culture, wildlife and history. The visibility that day was low, but we got to see moose, bisons, big horned sheep, grouse, coyote feasting on some carcass and of course the elks( the elk reserve trip is conducted by a separate company and was woven into our safari trip) - all in their natural habitats. It was wonderful and we can’t wait to come back again in spring to check out the baby animals and hopefully we can travel wil Jody again:)
