Started this tour at Adler planetarium b/c we were staying near the convention center and wanted to walk out to the lakefront. It was a picture perfect day and I sat on the open upper deck. Lance was the first guide and he was awesome; funny, informative, spontaneous, fun! He gets 5 stars. The tour only gets 4 for 2 reasons: 1. The website says it’s 1 hour but Lance said 2 and it seemed even longer than that. I got off once so can’t say exactly but there was a lot of sitting at stops and waiting. They try to keep the time between buses consistent so this may not be as much of an issue earlier in the day. 2. The second guide was very nice but nowhere near as good as Lance and her delivery detracted from the experience. If you don’t love your guide, get off and wait for another bus. The guide makes the trip! I got off 3 stops early but didn’t have time to wait because I had to be somewhere else so I didn’t finish the tour. Overall, the tour was enjoyable and worth the money. It is the perfect thing to do on your first day in town and I recommend getting the 2-day pass if you have time. I wish I had because I would hopping back on today with my list of places I want to revisit!

Fun, entertaining tour. Hopefully you get Liam, he was full of interesting, fun humorous facts about so much more than main attractions!

This is a really poor bus tour. I got on at Navy pier and the guide rambled on and on about apartment prices, told us nothing about the city and then rambled some more about his opinion of McDonald’s. He also the rambled inaccuracies about the Harpo building and new owners removing the sign so visitors don’t know it’s there - the building has actually been knocked. As I had a 2 day pass I had the misfortune of deciding to do the tour again to see if I could learn anything about the history of Chicago. Tour guide this time was Mike, marginally better.. he pointed out the Wriggley building and 2 buildings that didn’t burn in the great fire. He also had a few gripes with McDonald’s and their prices..Aside from that I am none the wiser on Chicago.. I should have saved my $46 and went on wiki.
