My wife and I have visited Chicago many times in the past and have had good exposure to major Chicago landmarks and city history. Earlier this week we made a spontaneous decision to try a hop-on-hop-off tour and, at the suggestion of a tourism clerk, selected the Big Bus tour. Our tour guide (Ricardo Raxx) did a great job of both educating and entertaining tour clients as we travelled around the city. The tour is a fun way to see several notable Chicago sites, learn some Chicago history, and select places for more in-depth exploration. Again, Ricardo was fantastic.

We used the big bus on the first day we where in Chicago. The bus takes 2 hours to go around their loop, but we took a lot longer because we would get off at the stops we want to take in the sights and some pictures. This was a great way to see the major spots, because don't let the view of the city when you are driving up fool you. it is a BIG city that could take you an extra long time to walk around it all. The tour guides also give good tips and information on the city.
