Not certain if the bus tour is worth the expense since it was so crowded that once leaving the bus to take a walking tour, it was nearly impossible to re-board because of the horde of other tourists. If we return to SF, we will opt to use public transit rather than taking the Big Bus Tour. On the plus side, we remained on board for one complete circuit and thus oriented, could actually consider using the MUNI system to go places ourselves.

Useless over loading unable to get on buses had to wait up 3 buses to get. don't waste your money

We did the 2 day tour and Alcatraz. A few problems:
1 It takes a long time to get any where.
2 1 day pass would have been better. Easier to use the public transportation in the city.
3 Alcatraz tour didn't start until 3:20. We were not able to make it back for the last bus at 5. Our hotel was in the Civic Center area. Should not schedule a tour that late in the day.

Good News: the buses were clean and we had a good tour guide.
