Had a fabulous 24 hop on hop off experience we had also booked Alcatraz trip which was amazing Bus stopped practically right outside our hotel on Lombard street which was an added bonus , commentary was good just the right amount of information We also had option if Sausalito which we would highly advise, gorgeous town well worth the visit

Having been to New York and done the big bus tour this one was quite poor in comparison no live tour guide only a plug and listen. Alcatraz was good but they should really work on the direction of the audio tour it doesn’t really flow well to be honest especially compared to eastern state penitentiary tour, although still very much worth a visit

Thank you for your review of Big Bus Tours. I am sorry to hear you did not enjoy your tour. Not all buses are equipped with a live guide, generally every other departing bus will contain a live guide. The free BIG BUS app, is available to download and it contains real time tracking for all loops, including transfer points. The app will also indicate which buses contain live guides versus the pre-recorded commentary in 10 languages.

Alcatraz is amazing, my son and I enjoyed every minute and the bus tour was brilliant! You can do Alcatraz one day and the bus tour on the next day.
