Beware as the Big Bus doesn's run often and you may have to wait 30 mins or more for a bus. The night tour is fully booked and there is a line down the street. Make sure you get there early to avoid not getting on the bus. I did the downtown tour, the panoramic night tour, trip to Sausalito, Madam Tassauds and Alcatraz. Booked this in advance with a travel agent. There was a lot of walking around getting your tickets and having to rebook Alcatraz as you are given a date and time and it was after I had left the country so you had to go and change the ticket at the dock. The trips were great but take a warm coat the night tour is freezing when you get to the Golden Gate.

We bought the combo Hop on Hop off tickets with the Alcatraz tickets. Tickets say to go pick up Alcatraz tx 24 hrs before at their office down by Fisherman's Wharf. We took a taxi there from out hotel & girl says we are on 2nd pick up list & we have to come back tomorrow between 10 a.m. & 2 p.m. I ask her why I was not informed of this & she was very dismissive. No apology at all for us wasting our time & our money to get there at the designated time the tickets said. Not impressed at all by their customer service or lack thereof. It could have been a simple email saying pick up time had changed. There is a disconnect with their system. I cannot recommend this company at all!!

I'm terribly sorry BIG BUS hasn't lived to it's high expectations of customer service. I thank you for your feedback as every piece of information is welcomed and only helps us to improve overall guest experience.

Loved the visit to Alcatraz Learnt so much for example didn’t realise how many children lived on the island - children of the guards. We enjoyed being able to easily get around the key attractions within San Francisco and then choosing where we wanted to go back to. I loved going to Sausalito. Waterfront restaurants were lovely. We walked the mile to see the amazing house boat community- boats cost up to $6m . There are hundreds of them so varied and colourful. We upgraded to do the night tour which took us across the bay bridge to see SF skyline by night. Beautiful. The extra $14 got us another 24 hours on the bus. So much to see
