What To Expect
1
Greenwell Farms
Our first stop makes the perfect stop at one of our favorite premium Kona coffee farms - Greenwell Farms. Enjoy a parfait and a scone while you sip from one of Greenwell's favorite coffee roasts. "As one of the largest and oldest coffee producers in Kona, Greenwell Farms is proud to celebrate its history and spread the spirit of aloha with every cup."
2
Punalu'u Bake Shop
Sweet, sweet Hawaiian bread! "Welcoming over 200,000 visitors from near and far every year, our bake shop is the most visited bakery in the state of Hawaiʻi. Located on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 11) in the town of Na‘alehu, midway between Kailua-Kona and Volcanoes National Park, our visitor center is a must-stop! You know you’re close when you smell the sweet aroma of our world-famous sweet bread, malasadas, and baked goods."
3
Punalu'u Black Sand beach
Turtle time! Come see nesting turtles at the most famous black sand beach in the Pacific Ocean. The beach has black sand made of basalt and created by lava flowing into the ocean which explodes as it reaches the ocean and cools. Strong riptides and a dangerous shore break are for brave snorkelers only. We will not be swimming or snorkeling while on tour but we'll be able to spot turtles making their way to the beach or heading back out to sea!
4
Volcano Winery
Enjoy a gourmet picnic lunch at this incredible property in Volcano Village, Hawaii! This is the southernmost winery in the U.S. and produces some really unique fruity wines. In the back of the property, walk in the garden and enjoy the rows of growing tea. In the tasting room, sample wine, tea or hot chocolate. This beautiful property is the perfect place to relax before we head to the volcano!
5
Hawaii Volcanoes National Park
For many, Hawaii Volcanoes National Park is the highlight of the tour. Visit the rim of Halemaumau Crater, explore the visitor center and stroll the ancient lava trails with our guides. Kilauea erupted violently in the spring of 2018 causing 80,000 earthquakes through the summer. One hundred days of underground and fissure eruptions, make this the most exciting attraction on Hawaii Island. "Hawaii Volcanoes National Park is on Hawaii Island (the Big Island). At its heart are the Kīlauea and Mauna Loa active volcanoes. The Crater Rim Drive passes steam vents and the Jaggar Museum, which features volcanology exhibits and a viewpoint overlooking Halema'uma'u Crater. Thick ferns mark the entrance to the Thurston Lava Tube (Nāhuku). The Chain of Craters Road weaves over lava. Trails crisscross the park."
6
Rainbow Falls
Rainbow Falls is a waterfall located in Hilo, Hawaii. It is 80 ft tall and almost 100 ft in diameter. The falls are part of the Hawai'i State Parks. There is no fee to see the falls. At Rainbow Falls, the Wailuku River rushes into a large pool below.

Wow we had a great time. My wife, adult son and I have been to the big island 3 times and have been to most of the places on other tours and on our own but what made this tour specal and stand out was our host and guide Aaron Brown The man is amazing. He was such a wealth of knowledge and facts. Instead of canned lecture we were treated to a conversation on subjects the groups had interests in while he interjected facts of the islands hisory, geology, geography, plants, animals, local politics, current changes and agriculture. Amazing. All while keeping us on time and on task. The tour was very prompt and efficient the bus was very clean and comfortable. The small group allowed for stops of our interest. Certainly worth our time and money. We look forward to other tours Kailani has to offer with our guide Arron Brown. Thank you. The Whites

Aloha, georgeywhite: We appreciate your positive feedback of Aaron Brown. Yes, he is an amazing guide, and the wealth of information he has to share with the guests onboard makes the experience even better. I'm glad you mentioned you've been to Hawaii Island in the past, but found his tour with Kailani Tours Hawaii was a standout experience. Thank you for the 5-star review. We look forward to seeing you in the future! Robin Akau

One of the best tours I have been on, we saw parts of the island we would have never seen on our own. Our guide Kevin was great and very knowledgeable. I highly recommend it was worth every penny.

Aloha, 245chaddr: Thank you for the wonderful review. I believe it is our guides that create the memorable experience our guests take home with them, and Kevin is among one of the best in the industry. We are lucky to have him as a part of our family. To be able to enjoy a day of being told the legends and facts of our island is rewarding in itself. Thank you for the 5-Star review. We hope to see you in the future! Robin Akau

We had originally booked to see the lava flows. Because the park is closed, and the lava stopped flowing just before we arrived, we switched to this tour to get an overview of the island. What a good decision that was! We had a great tour with our guide Jim Carey, who explained the history and traditions of the island as we drove through 11different climate zones. We heard Hawaiian legends and songs, had Kona coffee, tried malasadas( Hawaiian donuts), had a wonderful lunch at Volcano House, & saw turtles, a black sand beach & beautiful sunset! What a great day!

Aloha! Hawaii Island is home to some of the most beautiful places in the State of Hawaii. Don’t get me wrong. Each island is home to beautiful locations, but where else in the world can you experience almost every climate zone in the world and see a variety of landscapes in one day? Only the Big Island of Hawaii. At Kailani Tours Hawaii, we love our guides and Jim Carey is one of the special guys we are glad to have on our team. His knowledge of the island is outstanding; however, it’s his love of providing the best experience possible that makes everyone love his tours so much! Robin Akau
