What To Expect
1
Greenwell Farms
Our first stop makes the perfect stop at one of our favorite premium Kona coffee farms - Greenwell Farms. Enjoy a parfait and a scone while you sip from one of Greenwell's favorite coffee roasts. "As one of the largest and oldest coffee producers in Kona, Greenwell Farms is proud to celebrate its history and spread the spirit of aloha with every cup."
2
Punalu'u Bake Shop
Sweet, sweet Hawaiian bread! "Welcoming over 200,000 visitors from near and far every year, our bake shop is the most visited bakery in the state of Hawaiʻi. Located on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 11) in the town of Na‘alehu, midway between Kailua-Kona and Volcanoes National Park, our visitor center is a must-stop! You know you’re close when you smell the sweet aroma of our world-famous sweet bread, malasadas, and baked goods."
3
Punalu'u Black Sand beach
Turtle time! Come see nesting turtles at the most famous black sand beach in the Pacific Ocean. The beach has black sand made of basalt and created by lava flowing into the ocean which explodes as it reaches the ocean and cools. Strong riptides and a dangerous shore break are for brave snorkelers only. We will not be swimming or snorkeling while on tour but we'll be able to spot turtles making their way to the beach or heading back out to sea!
4
Volcano Winery
Enjoy a gourmet picnic lunch at this incredible property in Volcano Village, Hawaii! This is the southernmost winery in the U.S. and produces some really unique fruity wines. In the back of the property, walk in the garden and enjoy the rows of growing tea. In the tasting room, sample wine, tea or hot chocolate. This beautiful property is the perfect place to relax before we head to the volcano!
5
Hawaii Volcanoes National Park
For many, Hawaii Volcanoes National Park is the highlight of the tour. Visit the rim of Halemaumau Crater, explore the visitor center and stroll the ancient lava trails with our guides. Kilauea erupted violently in the spring of 2018 causing 80,000 earthquakes through the summer. One hundred days of underground and fissure eruptions, make this the most exciting attraction on Hawaii Island. "Hawaii Volcanoes National Park is on Hawaii Island (the Big Island). At its heart are the Kīlauea and Mauna Loa active volcanoes. The Crater Rim Drive passes steam vents and the Jaggar Museum, which features volcanology exhibits and a viewpoint overlooking Halema'uma'u Crater. Thick ferns mark the entrance to the Thurston Lava Tube (Nāhuku). The Chain of Craters Road weaves over lava. Trails crisscross the park."
6
Rainbow Falls
Rainbow Falls is a waterfall located in Hilo, Hawaii. It is 80 ft tall and almost 100 ft in diameter. The falls are part of the Hawai'i State Parks. There is no fee to see the falls. At Rainbow Falls, the Wailuku River rushes into a large pool below.

We had a great island tour with Jim Carey (yes that is his real name). Jim is very knowledgeable about the island culture and history. We learned so much! It is a long day but so worth it! Jim is super friendly and made us all feel like family. The van is new, very clean, spacious and comfortable. Light breakfast and a delicious lunch were included. I would highly recommend this trip to all.

Aloha, Anna P: Jim Carey is definitely a great tour guide. His knowledge of the island culture is so welcoming. I don't know one person who hasn't had a different perspective of the Big Island after going on tour with Jim. Because it is a big island, it tends to be a full day's tour. However, having a guide such as Jim, or any of our other professional tour guides, is a day well spent. Our goal is to provide clean, spacious transportation and delicious cuisine while you're one tour. Thank you for your 5-star review! Robin Akau

If you have the time, this all day trip around the Big Island is well worth it. Our guide, Brettt, was entertaining and very knowledgeable. He knowledge and passion about the Volcano National Park was infectious. The park had just reopened and this was his first tour into the park. Lunch was a surprise and delicious. He kept all of us (ages 26 to 60+) engaged and hydrated:) Thanks, Brett for a great time!.

Aloha, bbartell1214: Infectious! What a great word to describe the knowledge and energy from Brett. He is definitely entertaining; however, it's his love of the Big Island that makes going on tour with him a great time. We are glad you enjoyed the reopening of the park. Over the last 4 months, Hawaii Island had undergone some drastic changes in terms of the location of the eruption from Kilauea, and the overall appearance of Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. We are glad you thought the lunch was delicious. The Kilauea Lodge is one of my favorite spots to dine when I'm in the Volcano area. A guided tour through Kailani Tours Hawaii is definitely the way to go, and we appreciate your 5-star review of the service you received. Robin Akau
