What To Expect
1
Greenwell Farms
Our first stop makes the perfect stop at one of our favorite premium Kona coffee farms - Greenwell Farms. Enjoy a parfait and a scone while you sip from one of Greenwell's favorite coffee roasts. "As one of the largest and oldest coffee producers in Kona, Greenwell Farms is proud to celebrate its history and spread the spirit of aloha with every cup."
2
Punalu'u Bake Shop
Sweet, sweet Hawaiian bread! "Welcoming over 200,000 visitors from near and far every year, our bake shop is the most visited bakery in the state of Hawaiʻi. Located on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 11) in the town of Na‘alehu, midway between Kailua-Kona and Volcanoes National Park, our visitor center is a must-stop! You know you’re close when you smell the sweet aroma of our world-famous sweet bread, malasadas, and baked goods."
3
Punalu'u Black Sand beach
Turtle time! Come see nesting turtles at the most famous black sand beach in the Pacific Ocean. The beach has black sand made of basalt and created by lava flowing into the ocean which explodes as it reaches the ocean and cools. Strong riptides and a dangerous shore break are for brave snorkelers only. We will not be swimming or snorkeling while on tour but we'll be able to spot turtles making their way to the beach or heading back out to sea!
4
Volcano Winery
Enjoy a gourmet picnic lunch at this incredible property in Volcano Village, Hawaii! This is the southernmost winery in the U.S. and produces some really unique fruity wines. In the back of the property, walk in the garden and enjoy the rows of growing tea. In the tasting room, sample wine, tea or hot chocolate. This beautiful property is the perfect place to relax before we head to the volcano!
5
Hawaii Volcanoes National Park
For many, Hawaii Volcanoes National Park is the highlight of the tour. Visit the rim of Halemaumau Crater, explore the visitor center and stroll the ancient lava trails with our guides. Kilauea erupted violently in the spring of 2018 causing 80,000 earthquakes through the summer. One hundred days of underground and fissure eruptions, make this the most exciting attraction on Hawaii Island. "Hawaii Volcanoes National Park is on Hawaii Island (the Big Island). At its heart are the Kīlauea and Mauna Loa active volcanoes. The Crater Rim Drive passes steam vents and the Jaggar Museum, which features volcanology exhibits and a viewpoint overlooking Halema'uma'u Crater. Thick ferns mark the entrance to the Thurston Lava Tube (Nāhuku). The Chain of Craters Road weaves over lava. Trails crisscross the park."
6
Rainbow Falls
Rainbow Falls is a waterfall located in Hilo, Hawaii. It is 80 ft tall and almost 100 ft in diameter. The falls are part of the Hawai'i State Parks. There is no fee to see the falls. At Rainbow Falls, the Wailuku River rushes into a large pool below.

We went on this tour as it was recommended by our Hotel. Our tour guide Jim was outstanding. I wish we had toured with him several years ago when we first visited Hawaii. He was extremely knowledgeable about the island and its culture and shared it with us. He also shared economic information for those who might be thinking about moving to the islands. His insight was right on. Once we reached the Kilauea Volcano, his knowledge of the flows and how everything relates to Pele was fantastic. Can't say enough about this tour, highly recommend it especially to first time island visitors.

This was our first time to Hawaii. We wanted to get a general overview of the island. Our guide was extremely informative and knowledgeable of the island. He gave us an impromptu language lesson on how to speak Hawaiian. That alone helped with getting around the island...lol The locations we visited were breathtaking and just amazing. Our guide was so informative on each location, how they have come to be, the changes in the terrain since the last eruption and so much more. At the end of the tour, my husband and I were the last to be dropped off. Our guide was great about sharing some of the "off the path" more local things to do... We had such a great time on the Big Island. We cant wait to return.

We had a fabulous time on our tour. Grant was knowledgeable, personable and just plain fun. We all learned a lot about the island and its history throughout the day. It rained but he was right there with umbrellas, coats and towels to make us comfortable. The restaurant where we had lunch was excellent and we ended the day with a little shopping and had a snack at a local watering hole near the airport. It truly was an excellent adventure.
