Nahuku - Thurston Lava Tube

Walk along a bridge that gives you a literal inside look at Hawaii, as you follow it to the eerie Thurston Lava Tube, a 600-foot-long (183-meter) cave formed hundreds of years ago by an underground river of magma.

Hilo

Drive through historical Downtown Hilo, the largest city on the island.

Rainbow Falls

This 80-foot falls plunges over a natural lava cave and into the Wailuku River below. On a sunny day, rainbows appear in the mist of the falls, making for a magical view.

Akaka Falls State Park

This towering 442-foot (135-meter) waterfall plummets into a lush ravine at the center of a state park. You’ll enjoy a short walk through the vegetation for an up close view and plenty of photo ops.

Waipi'o Valley

The views stop you in your tracks at the Waipio Valley lookout, where a dramatic backdrop of lush cliffs drops into the sparkling blue ocean

Parker Ranch

Driver through the scenic green pasture of Parker Ranch, home of the Hawaiian cowboys and one of the largest ranches in the US.

Brilliant tour from Mia, who kept us informed and upbeat. I had a brilliant day, saw so many sights and chatted to fellow tour goers from the US and Australia. (I wish I had asked them for their contact details!) I would highly recommend this for anyone travelling solo. I was on the Island from the UK with work, and wanted a hassle-free tour to help maximize my time there. Would definitely do again!

One of the most memorable parts of our experience was listening to our tour guide Kurt as he informed us of the history of Kono Hawaii. The other was our visit to Punalulu Beach.

This was an amazing all day Big Island experience!! I definitely recommend doing this trip first so you get a good idea of what you'd want to see more of & get great suggestions/ideas! Our guide, Mia was incredible, truly she had in-depth knowledge of the areas we visited & shared her own personal experience growing up on the Island & local perspective!! It was one of the best group tours we've gone on & Mia ensured we all had a wonderful time! Tasty lunches, snacks, water & rain coats were provided too. Book your trip & try to go with Mia ..sit back & enjoy!
