Wonderful 3-hour experience led by Vicky with family of 4 (two teenage daughters). Would highly recommend! We had a private tour through volcanic, rocky terrain down to the ocean and back to start point. Vicky provided quick training at the onset and was flexible in getting us on the ATVs of our choosing. She provided the right amount (not too much) of training at the onset, and we were off! There was only a little commentary / education during stops, but this was perfect for us. The route is rigorous with large volcanic rocks everywhere, so top speeds are about 10-12 mph. My daughter had a problem with the power steering of her ATV, but as soon as Vicky learned of the situation, she swapped ATVs and used the broken one, which solved the problem. I estimate we rode for 2.5 of the 3-hour trip. The views at the ocean were beautiful! But, by the end we were all very tired. The trip is not for the faint of heart. In retrospect, the route might have been too rigorous. But, it was fun and I would recommend to anyone interested in a rigorous experience. Oh, and you get really dirty, so just be prepared.

First, I have to say that Anna was an excellent tour guide and pointed out many areas of interest along our path. The equipment was top-notch and in great condition. I also appreciated the excellent helmet, goggles, gloves, and face protection as some parts of the trail were so dry and dusty you could not see directly in front of you until a vehicle had cleared and the dust had settled. As a first time ATV rider, I felt the path was very challenging on the uneven parts. Maybe just a few minutes spent driving around initially to get us first timers or inexperienced drivers used to it might’ve been helpful. When making a decision about which tours to book, I always appreciate more information in order for me to make an informed decision. The parts that were not included in this particular description was the importance of wearing long sleeve and pants, not just for sun protection, which is essential, but also because if you are a driver, your legs are straddling the engine and will get extremely hot. Also, when a lot of dust occurs, and it certainly will under dry conditions, you’ll be covered head to toe in dust. Appropriate clothing is essential, or at least should be suggested. The places we stopped were beautiful and once again, Anna provided excellent descriptions of everything we saw and readily answered any questions we had. I did think a mention of the unevenness of the terrain would have been helpful. For anyone who’s ridden in an ATV before, they were certainly more prepared than I was.
