We can't say enough about what a wonderful tour this was with Vicki! We were lucky enough to be the only two on the tour so we got Vicki's complete focus and we got to ask all of the questions we had. Vicki is really an amazing guide. She was SO respectful of the Hawaiian lands and being careful to share with us the history and beauty of the island. The ride was a blast! my husband and I have both ridden ATVs before but it had been while. The ATVs were in excellent conditon - nicer than any other tours I have ridden on other locations. It was a challenging ride in some spots but we felt safe and had so much fun. Vicki provides helmets, gloves, and buffs so we were able to just show up with water bottles and our lunch. We got to see quite a few different terrains and so many "photo" spots. Along the way we saw a lava cave and the southern plains of the island. We visited a green sand beach, and several other beautiful beaches and cliffs. Vicki pointed out the turtles and fish so we did not miss a thing! Lastly, this was an incredible value for the cost! It was a 3 hour ride and we got to see SO much of the area. We felt like we got a real feel for the south end of the Big Island. It was such a fabulous time Vicki! You were so nice, funny, informative and helpful! Mahalo!!

The atv trail is basic but rough enough for beginners to enjoy. We went to the small green sand beach, had lunch in the shade of a grove of trees on a small cove saw lava tubes and the rock walls marking territories assigned by King Kamehameha. The owner was our guide and very entertaining. She took us to a place where we saw sea turtles and colorful Fisk from the cliff.

We rode for nearly 3.5 hours over lava flows to the ocean. The scenery was beautiful and our guide Anna did a very good job pointing out things of interest and explaining Hawaiian history and culture. The ATV's and equipment(helmets, goggles, gloves, and bandana/dust guard) were in very good condition. I am giving this review only 3 stars for the following reasons: In the companies description of this activity, they describe the terrain at times as bumpy. The trail was VERY rugged, uneven, and extremely dusty most of the time. It was very difficult to maneuver and keep control of the ATV's at certain points on the trail. I would not recommend this tour if you have no experience riding a ATV over rugged terrain. It was never mentioned in their tour description to wear long sleeves and long pants; which really was necessary for sun protection and protection from the heat of the engine. If you are a passenger on the double ATV, be aware that you will feel the most bouncing and jostling. My friend and I were very sore the next day.

We are sorry you didn't really enjoy the tour due to the terrain. We strive to have equipment that is easy for beginners to ride, Automatic transmissions, power steering and well maintained by our certified mechanic. We leave it up to the customer weather they want to wear long sleeves or short sleeves, shorts or long pants. And I think rugged and bumpy are pretty much the same. Its not THAT bad. I hope you and your friend have recovered. Thank you for your review.
