Black Cat Historical Day Tour

Overview
Our daytime historic tour is a story of Pirates and Puritans, Witchcraft and War.  We travel around the city of Salem and share the tales of its amazing history.  From its humble beginnings as a city founded on the idea of peace for all, to the site of the largest incident of witchcraft hysteria in the modern world, learn how it became one of the biggest shipping ports in America, played host to some of the most famous authors of all time, and learn some of the biggest secrets this city has to offer!

Our daytime walking tour lasts about an hour and forty five minutes, and covers a mile's worth of the downtown area. It is an easy walk, but we suggest comfortable shoes and clothing to match the season. Our tours are unscripted, and can be customized to every group's particular areas of interest!

Jeff was the best tour guide we've ever had anywhere! He took the time at the beginning of the tour to learn about each of us, where we were from, and our interests. Then he was able to incorporate what he'd learned about us into the tour which made it very personalized and fun. We learned so much on this tour! Jeff provided so many great historical facts and stories about Salem with a fantastic sense of humor. His knowledge seemed endless! He also brought some artifacts and photos that made the tour really unique. If you're ever in Salem, go with Black Cat Tours. You won't be disappointed!

I've taken the night tour twice now (a couple yeards between) and I've learned new things each time! It is not always the same route with the same stops, it turns out. The guides are super knowledgeable and if you have questions or want a deeper dive, boy will you get it! I've just gotten the new book they mentioned they have out, because I have become so fascinated with the vast and crazy history of Salem!! Highly recommend.

Absolutely great experience. Daniel is an outstanding tour guide who obviously loves his work. He gave little known and interesting details at each stop. Everyone in our group enjoyed it and would highly recommend!!
