Overview

Our daytime historic tour is a story of Pirates and Puritans, Witchcraft and War. We travel around the city of Salem and share the tales of its amazing history. From its humble beginnings as a city founded on the idea of peace for all, to the site of the largest incident of witchcraft hysteria in the modern world, learn how it became one of the biggest shipping ports in America, played host to some of the most famous authors of all time, and learn some of the biggest secrets this city has to offer!

Our daytime walking tour lasts about an hour and forty five minutes, and covers a mile's worth of the downtown area. It is an easy walk, but we suggest comfortable shoes and clothing to match the season. Our tours are unscripted, and can be customized to every group's particular areas of interest!

What To Expect

Salem Black Cat Tours

Your guide will meet you at the Axelrod Walkway park at 28 Charter Street, next to the Peabody Essex Museum, located across the street from the Witchcraft Trials Memorial and Old Burying Point Cemetery Welcome Center.

This tour was a great addition to our trip. The information complemented the other facts we had learned throughout our visit and overlapped very little, providing us with a lot of new insight. Highly recommend!

Booked the nighttime ghost tour with black cat. Our tour guide Jeff was great. He was very entertaining and enthusiastic. Learned a lot about the city in such a short time (tour ran a little shy of 2 hours). I would definitely recommend this to anyone visiting Salem.

This tour was great, excellent value for the price! Our tour guide was Jeff Horton and he was super entertaining and knowledgeable. The tour was about 2 hrs but it was chock full of interesting information. Our guide definitely made the tour. If we go back we would certainly consider doing it again. Highly recommend
