Overview

Our daytime historic tour is a story of Pirates and Puritans, Witchcraft and War. We travel around the city of Salem and share the tales of its amazing history. From its humble beginnings as a city founded on the idea of peace for all, to the site of the largest incident of witchcraft hysteria in the modern world, learn how it became one of the biggest shipping ports in America, played host to some of the most famous authors of all time, and learn some of the biggest secrets this city has to offer!

Our daytime walking tour lasts about an hour and forty five minutes, and covers a mile's worth of the downtown area. It is an easy walk, but we suggest comfortable shoes and clothing to match the season. Our tours are unscripted, and can be customized to every group's particular areas of interest!

What To Expect

Salem Black Cat Tours

Your guide will meet you at the Axelrod Walkway park at 28 Charter Street, next to the Peabody Essex Museum, located across the street from the Witchcraft Trials Memorial and Old Burying Point Cemetery Welcome Center.

We enjoyed this tour. Daniel was informative, funny, and had a true passion for the city which you could tell through this stories and the knowledge he shared. We will definitely go back again.

My boyfriend and I brought our kids (ages 6, 8,11) this past weekend to check out Salem. We all loved the tour! The stories were interesting and captivated us from beginning to end! We left wanting to hear more! Our kids can't stop talking about the stories! Highly recommend Black Cat Tours!

This experience was well-worth the time and manageable prices! It was awesome, informational, fun and honestly mind-boggling in the night-time. Daniel was well educated, knowledgeable and an overall great tour time. I would absolutely take this tour again! My family took lots of pictures and honestly, they all show SOMETHING that Daniel discussed throughout the tour. Not scary while you are walking, but honestly, scary when you review your own pictures after the fact! Great experience, and I highly recommend it.
