Overview

Discover the natural sights and scenery surrounding the Blue Ridge Parkway in Great Smoky Mountain National Park in an active way on a hiking tour with transport through the mountains from Asheville. You'll drive through some beautiful mountain scenery on the way visit three waterfalls and two protected forests . IMPORTANT Before booking this tour please know that we will be walking approximately 3 miles on the hiking portion of this tour over 2 hours at pace of about 1 1/2 miles per hour, including stops at the falls and you should feel comfortable walking this distance before making a booking. Snacks, drinks, and hotel pickup and drop-off by small-group vehicle (all window seats) are included. Tour is limited to seven people for a more personalized experience. Alternate tour routes are taken when the Blue Ridge Parkway is closed.

What To Expect

Blue Ridge Parkway

Your tour begins with pickup from your Asheville area hotel or accommodation by an air-conditioned van, which has all captains chairs for the drive to and along the Blue Ridge Parkway when open, which is also Great Smoky Mountain National Park an American treasure well known for its scenic beauty and remarkable mountain views. Sit back , relax and enjoy this stunning drive to our first waterfall in Pisgah National Forest before traveling a short distance to visit two more falls in a beautiful state forest. Along the way you'll listen to interesting stories about the rich history of the area that has been attracting people to the area for generations from your local Asheville guide. Wear comfortable shoes or hiking boots for the easy to moderate hiking portion of the tour. You should feel comfortable walking approximately 3.5 miles at one time during the hiking portion of the tour with stops along the way that will allow you time to enjoy falls, a snack and drink that is provided. Bring a small day pack if you have one. Safety is always a priority! After hiking, your tour concludes with transport back to your hotel, leaving you the rest of the afternoon to enjoy at your leisure.

Our experience was great! The tour guide was knowledgeable and gave a lot of interesting information. It was well worth the price especially not having to drive to all the locations.

Thanks for the wonderful time, it was great. Keith was on time picking us up from the hotel, explained things about the area and took us to some amazing spots in Asheville, NC. We enjoyed the different stops along the way, beautiful mountain views and waterfalls. The short hike was very doable for my husband, myself and our teenage daughter despite the heat and humidity. Would highly recommend this tour.

This is a must do on your trip to Asheville! Keith, the tour guide and owner is superb in his knowledge of the area and history of the town and forest. The scenery is spectacular to say the least. The hike is a comfortable pace than can accommodate many levels of fitness. The waterfalls are amazing, each one you visit you will stop for about 20 minutes and take in the beauty of the area, have a snack or a drink of water before moving on to the next site. Keith is very knowledgeable about the fauna and flora as well. So much interesting information!!
