Discover the natural sights and scenery surrounding the Blue Ridge Parkway in Great Smoky Mountain National Park in an active way on a hiking tour with transport through the mountains from Asheville. You'll drive through some beautiful mountain scenery on the way visit three waterfalls and two protected forests . IMPORTANT Before booking this tour please know that we will be walking approximately 3 miles on the hiking portion of this tour over 2 hours at pace of about 1 1/2 miles per hour, including stops at the falls and you should feel comfortable walking this distance before making a booking. Snacks, drinks, and hotel pickup and drop-off by small-group vehicle (all window seats) are included. Tour is limited to seven people for a more personalized experience. Alternate tour routes are taken when the Blue Ridge Parkway is closed.
Departure between 8:00 am and 8:20 am at your area hotel within 3 miles of City Center. An exact time will be provided by test the day before your tour

What To Expect

Blue Ridge Parkway

Your tour begins with pickup from your Asheville area hotel or accommodation by an air-conditioned van, which has all captains chairs for the drive to and along the Blue Ridge Parkway when open, which is also Great Smoky Mountain National Park an American treasure well known for its scenic beauty and remarkable mountain views. Sit back , relax and enjoy this stunning drive to our first waterfall in Pisgah National Forest before traveling a short distance to visit two more falls in a beautiful state forest. Along the way you'll listen to interesting stories about the rich history of the area that has been attracting people to the area for generations from your local Asheville guide. Wear comfortable shoes or hiking boots for the easy to moderate hiking portion of the tour. You should feel comfortable walking approximately 3.5 miles at one time during the hiking portion of the tour with stops along the way that will allow you time to enjoy falls, a snack and drink that is provided. Bring a small day pack if you have one. Safety is always a priority! After hiking, your tour concludes with transport back to your hotel, leaving you the rest of the afternoon to enjoy at your leisure.

Our guide Keith was very nice. We spent at least two hours driving around the Blue Ridge Parkway and about 1 hour hiking to two waterfalls Recommended for families with young children but not for babies or for aggressive hikers

Thank you for your comments! We appreciate your reccommendation. If you are reading this, just to be clear, the hiking portion of the tour is about 2 hours ( 3 miles with several stops) and we are driving and stopping on the Blue Ridge Parkway for about an hour on this tour.

Mitch was very communicative prior to our hike answering all our questions on what to wear, bring expect ... He arrived right on time at our hotel and during the drive to the first stop, he gave us a wealth of information on the history of Asheville, the Biltmore Estate, the local flora and fauna and the construction of the Blue Ridge Highway. The hikes themselves were great. We were pressed for time because of an afternoon appointment, so we

well worth the 5-6 hours, especially since i had zero time to do the research myself and did not want to be the one driving so that i could enjoy the sights on the blue ridge parkway while someone else worried about the driving, the weather, where the bathroom stops were, etc
