Overview

Discover the natural sights and scenery surrounding the Blue Ridge Parkway in Great Smoky Mountain National Park in an active way on a hiking tour with transport through the mountains from Asheville. You'll drive through some beautiful mountain scenery on the way visit three waterfalls and two protected forests . IMPORTANT Before booking this tour please know that we will be walking approximately 3 miles on the hiking portion of this tour over 2 hours at pace of about 1 1/2 miles per hour, including stops at the falls and you should feel comfortable walking this distance before making a booking. Snacks, drinks, and hotel pickup and drop-off by small-group vehicle (all window seats) are included. Tour is limited to seven people for a more personalized experience. Alternate tour routes are taken when the Blue Ridge Parkway is closed.
Departure between 8:00 am and 8:20 am at your area hotel within 3 miles of City Center. An exact time will be provided by test the day before your tour

What To Expect

Blue Ridge Parkway

Your tour begins with pickup from your Asheville area hotel or accommodation by an air-conditioned van, which has all captains chairs for the drive to and along the Blue Ridge Parkway when open, which is also Great Smoky Mountain National Park an American treasure well known for its scenic beauty and remarkable mountain views. Sit back , relax and enjoy this stunning drive to our first waterfall in Pisgah National Forest before traveling a short distance to visit two more falls in a beautiful state forest. Along the way you'll listen to interesting stories about the rich history of the area that has been attracting people to the area for generations from your local Asheville guide. Wear comfortable shoes or hiking boots for the easy to moderate hiking portion of the tour. You should feel comfortable walking approximately 3.5 miles at one time during the hiking portion of the tour with stops along the way that will allow you time to enjoy falls, a snack and drink that is provided. Bring a small day pack if you have one. Safety is always a priority! After hiking, your tour concludes with transport back to your hotel, leaving you the rest of the afternoon to enjoy at your leisure.

The purpose of the trip to the Asheville area was to photography the hundreds of waterfalls in the Blue Ridge Mountains. In two days I was able to shoot 5 falls. Great views beautiful landscapes.

For the very first time my family visited Asheville. I wanted to surprise my wonderful husband and three children with an unique nature experience. Keith exceeded our expectations! He came promptly to pick us up at our hotel and proceeded to show us a tour and waterfall hike that was BREATHTAKING! Coming from Hawaii, we thought we had already seen beautiful waterfalls; Keith showed us that North Carolina had incredibly beautiful waterfalls. Also the drive though the Blue Ridge Parkway was heavenly! WE LOVED IT SO MUCH WE CAN'T WAIT TO HAVE KEITH TAKE US AGAIN TO THE MOUNTAINS

Our family absolutely loved the Tumblestone waterfall tour with Keith! We were able to see some of the blue ridge parkway, Pisgah National Park AND take a lovely, easy hike in DuPont State forest. It was an awesome way to see a lot of western NC in only a 1/2 day. Of course the waterfalls were amazing too! Keith is a superb guide and made the entire group feel comfortable regardless of their ability level. Can’t recommend highly enough!
