Bright Angel Trail
Bright Angel Trail offers a wealth of day hiking opportunities on this tour! The trail switchbacks down from the South Rim Village to Mile and a Half Rest House, then 3 Mile Rest House, then Indian Garden at 4.5 miles and Plateau Point at 6 miles. So this tour can be done as a 3-mile, 6-mile, 9-mile, or 12-mile round trip hike. For ambitious travelers, Plateau Point (12 miles round trip) offers the most "bang for the buck" with stunning views of the Inner Gorge and the Colorado River. Indian Garden (9 miles round trip) is another excellent longer option with a shaded oasis with a spring-fed creek for a picnic lunch. And for less ambitious travelers, Mile and a Half and 3 Mile rest houses offer fantastic hikes.

We really enjoyed our hike with Stephen. We was very well versed in the history and geology of the area. We also felt good about his professionalism and courtesy to other hikers on the trail. The trail is fairly busy and he made sure we stopped to let uphill hikers have the right of way. The trail was fairly easy to navigate.

Our guide Matt was great. He shared his vast knowledge of the canyon and the plant and animal life that dwell there. Matt has a personality that makes you enjoy spending the day with him. My wife and I had a wonderful day in the canyon. Matt was the perfect guide and Wildland Trekking made all arrangements go smoothly.

The hike was absolutely beautiful. It was an amazing way to see the Grand Canyon. Our guide (Dakota) was phenomenal. He was very knowledgeable about the Canyon and provided a lot of historical context to the hike. He also went at ā€œour paceā€ and didnā€™t push too much. He cooked up a tasty quesadilla for us at the halfway point and entertained us with dad jokes on the hike back up. Weā€™re excited to return and take a much longer hike into the canyon (hopefully with Dakota).
