Bright Angel Trail
Bright Angel Trail offers a wealth of day hiking opportunities on this tour! The trail switchbacks down from the South Rim Village to Mile and a Half Rest House, then 3 Mile Rest House, then Indian Garden at 4.5 miles and Plateau Point at 6 miles. So this tour can be done as a 3-mile, 6-mile, 9-mile, or 12-mile round trip hike. For ambitious travelers, Plateau Point (12 miles round trip) offers the most "bang for the buck" with stunning views of the Inner Gorge and the Colorado River. Indian Garden (9 miles round trip) is another excellent longer option with a shaded oasis with a spring-fed creek for a picnic lunch. And for less ambitious travelers, Mile and a Half and 3 Mile rest houses offer fantastic hikes.

Our guide, Shayne Hall, was excellent. He was patient, informative, personable, and made a great lunch! I would recommend him highly. The hike was also very good. The Trail was in great shape and offered options on length of hike. We did the 3 down & 3 back up hike, which was all we wanted.

My family (5 of us ages 27-58) enjoyed every minute of our private, guided hike 3 miles down Bright Angel Trail. Our guide Moshe was great. His intimate knowledge of the trail and the canyon made an amazing day even more memorable. Early October turned out to be the perfect time to visit as temps were ideal and the trail was relatively uncrowded.

Louie was a tremendous guide. He was informative, fun, personable, and knowledgeable. He was able to trailer our hike to one which was challenging yet within our skill ability. We felt safe from the get go land yet we felt challenged throughout the hike. We learned a lot about the terrain , plants, animal life while in an atmosphere of comfort and fun. It was an unforgettable experience and we would highly recommend both the tour and Louie. Patty & Mary
