Overview

With more than 265 acres for you to explore at the Bronx Zoo and over 10,000 animals your Bronx Zoo Admission ticket will give you unlimited access to a host of premium exhibits and activities. This includes JungleWorld, Bug Carousel and Nature Trek (Weather Permitting). Also, Congo Gorilla Forest is Free during the months of Jan-Mar.

The following attractions are closed for the season and will reopen in the Spring – Zoo Shuttle, Butterfly Garden, Children’s Zoo, Wild Asia Monorail and Dinosaur Safari.

We are committed to providing safe and healthy experiences for our community. Changes to exhibits and park operations will happen. We will provide advance notice, when possible, but adjustments may also be due to unforeseen conditions.

Thank you for understanding if some exhibits/animals are not available on the day you choose to visit.

Wow! What a incredible zoo! You will need to have your proof of vaccination and wear a mask when entering the indoor exhibits but these are the best part of this modern zoo so well worth the hassle. We first visited jungle world and were blown away by the waterfall rock faces and glass fronted enclosures. There comfort of the animals seems very important here, and the animals seemed very happy and healthy. I do admit some be displayed stress behaviour (pacing and hiding) but this is to be expected in any zoo. I was very impressed by the pairing of the big star attractions with smaller lesser known animals, and the importance of conservation and how the public can help being signposted so often. I also loved how they have repurposed the oldest zoo buildings like the lion house to a new Madagascar exhibit etc. Very cool! This zoo can be reached by subway 1, 2 and E trains and then by bus or foot. One of my top three zoos for sure!

After being stuck on the Animal Planet TV show, The Zoo, it was time to make a visit. Its everything and more! Simply Wonderful. This massive Zoo is hidden in the extremely urban Bronx section of New York. We were shocked at the mere size of it. Plan on the entire day if you want to see most of it. Amazing Animals, great care takers and ample food and drink stations will fuel your body and mind. This is a NYC must visit.
