Shady and nice. A bit expensive for a zoo. But nice non the less. Closed at 4:30 on a Friday which was a surprise. Lines were quick bathrooms were clean and seats were disinfected thanks to the pandemic. Very nice!

I went during quarantine and was fantastic. This zoo is way better than the San Diego’s zoo. They have new dholes exhibit. It is also really easy to social distance- they wipe down the monorail every time it the ride is over and they have sanitizer stations all over the park. It takes about 6 hours to see every thing.9 if every thing was open. They got a new elephant so happy is not alone anymore. Food is pricey and parking is sometimes hard so if you live close by walk or take the bus. But, if you live far away take the train. More full on Wednesdays. This is one of the zoos that is worth going now because a lot of stuff is outside so there is still a lot to see and do.

We visited the Bronx Zoo yesterday and had a great time. We also felt very safe throughout our visit. They've done a great job with timed ticketing such that you don't feel rushed (you're allowed to stay as long as you like), but it still felt so uncrowded. It was almost like the park was rented out by a few groups and you had free reign (that's how well social distancing was working) Staff were clearly cleaning everything often, and the bathrooms were very very clean. Yes, there are some exhibits that you can't see, as they're either inside, or the viewing area is inside (gorillas, penguins, reptiles), but we got a great deal by doing the Total Experience ticked on a Wednesday (when entrance is free). So for $15 per person we got to ride the Asia Monorail and make use of the tram. It definitely felt worth it.
