Today I went on a tour of the Brooklyn Navy Yard with Andrew. There is nothing like taking a tour with someone who is not only knowledgeable but passionate about the topic at hand. I am. Brooklyn native, and my eyes were opened to a whole part of Brooklyn, and U.S. history that I was unaware of. And, most impressive are the plans for the future of the yard. This is a must see tour for native New Yorkers, and tourists of the world who want to be enlightened. I will take another Turnstile tour soon!

Doug led a two hour tour that explored the rich history of the navy yard and explained how it is being renewed as a center for light industry. A fascinating window into New York's history and a look toward its future. The bus ride through the expansive site really helped cover a lot of ground.

We did the tour to find out more about Brooklyn and the Navy Yard. It was really informative, particularly as we aren't American so lots of the history was completely new to us. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and there were no questions he couldn't answer. Would thoroughly recommend and keen to do another Turnstile Tour.
