  • The Brooklyn Navy Yard can be reached by bus, on foot, by bicycle, and via the NYC public ferry system. The NYC ferries and city buses are accessible to people who use wheelchairs and strollers. Take the Astoria line ferry from East 34th Street or Pier 11/Wall Street in Manhattan to the Brooklyn Navy Yard ferry stop. Please plan your trip to the Yard in advance to ensure an early arrival.

I enjoyed the Brooklyn Navy Yard Tour. Our tour guide, Doug, was very informative and made the tour fun. I would recommend the tour to anyone interested in military history and for anyone interested in the present day happenings at the Navy Yard.

We went with my book club after reading Manhattan Beach, which takes place in the yard during WWII. Andrew, our guide, was fantastic. We learned so much about our own back yard. My husband also thoroughly loved it.
