We had a wonderful tour for my birthday (with 8 friends) of The Brooklyn Navy Yard where my family had a history. Our guide Andrew was well informed, interesting, and seeking our questions. It is apparent he loves history and Brooklyn....will take more tours with Turnstile.

Our Turnstile Tours tour of the Navy Yard--a nifty combination of bus tour and walking tour--was led by Andrew and was so informative and insightful. I had taken the walking tour of Building 92 at the Navy Yard, but this was completely different, with real information about the amazing old buildings and the stunning and forward-looking new ones. The Navy Yard has a special place in history for me -- my late dad worked there as a young man -- but it also is a great place to visit and is growing as a hub of industry and employment for the local community. I highly recommend it!

It's always so special to have people on the tour with personal connections to the Yard's long history. Thank you for sharing, and we will be sure to pass on your kind words to Andrew.

This was my second time in six years taking the "Past, Present & Future" tour. It was special because, in the interim, a tile in my mother's honor was placed on the Navy Yard's "Tribute Hall" commemorating her service as a welder during World War II. As the tile states, she "helped build the USS Missouri." Once again, the tour guide was excellent. He was knowledgeable and pleasant, humorous and open to questions. As the tour's title indicates, the long history of the Navy Yard is presented, along with it's transformation in recent years into an amazing area of industry, commerce and cutting-edge productions of all sorts. The tour consists of hopping on and off a bus as you traverse the huge place (1/2 the size of Brooklyn's Prospect Park). There are plenty of opportunities for picture-taking with more than a few views of Manhattan beyond the East River. This tour is for history buffs for sure, but also those interested in the potential for 20th century industrial areas to be repurposed into 21st century thriving complexes. The two-hour tour is just the right length and Turnstile Tours also offers other, more specialized tours of the Navy Yard, as well. I highly recommend the "Past, Present & Future" tour.
