Sunset Cultural Center
This is the meeting place for Carmel Food Tours. Look for the tall, Gothic-style arch and huge windows. It looks a little like a church, but it's not. When you descend into the courtyard, which is located EXACTLY at the intersection of 9th & San Carlos, you'll be greeted by your tour guide.

Totally enjoyed the Carmel Food Tour with Amber. She was very knowledgeable and really attentive to our group. I enjoyed the bits of history on Carmel that she shared. The 2 recommendations that I would make are to choose one dessert shop instead of two (cheesecake and then a chocolate store); and eliminate the olive oil/vinegar pairing as these stores are pretty common now. Would have preferred more food/wine pairing stops instead.

We had THE BEST time with Kimberly! We stopped at 7 restaurants. Kimberly was so great at giving us history and interesting facts about the city and the places we went to see. There was no wait at every stop, and the food/drinks were amazing. We tried things that I typically wouldn't order- and I was really pleased. I mentioned that I don't each shellfish, so something else was prepared for me. So sweet! We also received discounts at some of the stops, so we went back and did more shopping. Lastly, Kimberly is a local and gave us great tips on dinner spots and where to go with our dog. Definitely bring your comfy walking shoes and a jacket! I know it's pricey- but so worth it!! I would book this for your first day in Carmel- that way you know where you want to go! Thank you Kimberly!

Our guide for the food and wine tasting tour was Amber. She was very personable and smart. She connected the history of Carmel throughout the tour, as she led the group into the each stop that emphasized delectable samples of food, wine, olive oils, honeys, tiramisu, and/or chocolates. The size of the group was just right, and my wife and I took the opportunity to meet a variety of people from Canada, Florida, and California locations. And at the heart of the experience was Amber's humor and friendly discussions, giving attention to everyone's needs and observations. I was a terrific experience.
