Sunset Cultural Center

This is the meeting place for Carmel Food Tours. Look for the tall, Gothic-style arch and huge windows. It looks a little like a church, but it's not. When you descend into the courtyard, which is located EXACTLY at the intersection of 9th & San Carlos, you'll be greeted by your tour guide.

I selected this tour for my birthday outing with my family: husband, sister-in-law and her husband. We live in nearby San Jose so have visited and explored this city many times but found a new appreciation. Our guide was Tracy who although not a native knew the many in's and outs. Our tour concentrated on such venues as: Carmel Honey where we met the young entrepreneur who explained his product, met the owner of Cafe Carmel and went to other locations that we would never have visited or considered. As this tour was billed as a food and wine tour, it did deliver: tacos and a special margarita-type drink, yummy mushroom soup paired with a wonderful glass of red wine. The most surprising element of the tour was the olive oil sampling...also with ice cream! Tracy ended our tour at Lula's Chocolates and I was honored to receive a special water bottle for my birthday! I highly recommend re-discovering Carmel with this exceptional tour!

We loved this tour experience. Not only did we sample wonderful foods and tastings, we learned some interesting facts about Carmel. Our tour guide was Tracy and she was excellent. She asked about food allergies before we began our tour so each restaurant could attempt to accommodate everyone; that was very kind and very much appreciated. I highly recommend this tour.
