Overview
Discover the charming coastal town of Carmel and savor a series of tantalizing food tastings (which may include wine or a cocktail) on this 3-hour guided walking tour. Your passionate guide will share stories about the history, culture and architecture of Carmel as you stop at restaurants, stylish watering holes and food shops to meet business owners (when available) and sample different food items. You may visit places like a classic European Restaurant, a local tavern serving mixed fermentation brews and modern takes on classic dishes, purveyors of the freshest tortillas on the Monterey Peninsula, and a local producer of confections made from century-old recipes. In general, the tastings add up to an average lunch. Ideal for both tourists and Carmel residents, this tour is a leisurely and tasty way to learn more about this quaint town.

Sunset Cultural Center
This is the meeting place for Carmel Food Tours. Look for the tall, Gothic-style arch and huge windows. It looks a little like a church, but it's not. When you descend into the courtyard, which is located EXACTLY at the intersection of 9th & San Carlos, you'll be greeted by your tour guide.

Bonnie did a great job and we had lots of fun! Loved the secret passageways and added info on the area. The food was wonderful and it was a terrific way to find out more about Carmel and eat good too!

As you have discovered, we are more than just food and that there are unique and beautiful passageways that can easily be missed. Our food stops along the tour showcase the best of what Carmel has to offer and we are happy to hear that you concur! Thank you for taking the time to share your review!

Had a great time. Food was good. Stopped at a honey shop, Olive Oil tasting shop and chocolate shop in addition to restaurants. Good variety. Would loved to have heard more about Carmel and it's history or more from the owners at the restaurants about their restaurant or the food. Otherwise, great time.

Our tours regularly provide interesting facts and history of Carmel, as well as chefs and owners from each stop sharing a little about their passion and business. We are proud of the diversity that we offer and the food our tasting partners share. Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review.

My husband and I are local to the area and had never thought of ever doing such a tour but now we're glad we did since now we can encourage others to try it out. Both the food and libations were plentiful and Bonnie, our guide was great. The tasting partners folks were all very accommodating about my husband's food allergy. Highly recommended.
