The Carrie B sightseeing paddlewheel tour boat is owned and operated by Harbor Tours, Inc. We have been providing scenic sightseeing boat tours and private charters since 1959. As a third-generation family-owned and operated business, we have plied the waters of Hampton Roads’ Norfolk Harbor, Virginia and the waterways of Fort Lauderdale, FL for generations of guests. Today we are pleased to offer a full-time presence in both locations.

What To Expect

Carrie B Cruises

Join us for a 1.5 hour fully narrated sightseeing cruises of Fort Lauderdale’s yachts and homes of the rich and famous traveling on the New River, the Intracoastal Waterway, and Port Everglades.

Stranahan House

Our tour begins at our Downtown Fort Lauderdale dock which just happens to be a stone's throw away from the Stranahan House

Colee Hammock Park

We continue past homes which sold in the early 1920's for only $4,000 to $8,000 dollars. Today these homes in Rio Vista and Colee Hammock sell for multi-million dollar prices. We continue past Colee Hammock Park and head out to the widest section of the New River.

I recently took a cruise on the New River and inter-coastal waterway while in Ft. Lauderdale. My family and I were very pleased with the comfort of the riverboat and the narration from our guide. For the three of us (2 adults/ 7 year old) we paid $63.75. There were several parking options within a reasonable walking distance. This cruise departs downtown Ft. Lauderdale, so depending on where you're staying it may not be as convenient as some of the tours that leave the marina area or those that are closer to the coast. We were eating dinner nearby afterwards so we didn't mind the drive from our hotel which was near the beach. Overall I would recommend this tour and it will certainly be a relaxing change of pace.

Fort Lauderdale has many rich attractions, especially along the intercostal. The fabulous homes along the intercostal, many more than one generation owned, beautiful canal waterways and historic sites. The cruise is a relaxing 90 minute ride on the intercostal past fabulous looking homes of the rich and some time famous. Fort Lauderdale having over 42,000 yachts as we were told, the larger ones were impressive. This was our third trip in three years as we generally make it a day in Fort Lauderdale with guests who have not been in the Fort Lauderdale area before. Being close to the Las Olas helps in adding the Carrie B .Cruise to our days agenda. An important note to remember is the Carrie B offers a free coupon for one person on line. This impacts the cost of the cruise for two significantly. Ours came to a 50% savings for the two of us.

We spent a very enjoyable 90 minutes aboard the Carrie B, learning a lot and marveling at the wonderful homes and boats that line the waterways of Fort Lauderdale. We stayed on the upper deck the whole time so cannot comment on the food and drink selection, but the commentary was excellent and the trip is a must for visitors.
