As a local in Miami, I am pretty familiar with the Lauderdale area. However the Carrie B cruise was a attraction that completely showed me a new side to Ft Lauderdale. Living on the inter-coastal, the front part of your house is really the side that faces the water. So if you don't take this boat ride, you really can't see completely all of the cool houses and yachts. Take a weekend slot if you can because, then you can see all of the cruise ships that are ported there. -BJ

The Carrie B was part of our Ft. Lauderdale Land and Sea excursion at the conclusion of our cruise. While it was an overcast and slightly rainy day, it really didn't play too much of a factor in the tour. It was interesting to see the homes on the river, however, we were inside on the first level of the boat and could hear nothing but the engine noise. We couldn't go topside because of the rain. We asked to have the volume of the narrator turned up and we still couldn't hear anything. On top of that, because people were so bored not being able to hear anything, they were all talking over the narrator so we basically had no idea what we were looking at except very fancy properties and boats. We paid $138 for two people for this tour and when we boarded the Carrie B, we had to pay another $21 for two hot dogs, a pretzel and a drink. That's a bit much in my opinion. I would never do this tour again. And definitely don't bring kids. If the adults were all bored, I would hate to have to deal with children as well.

First, a warm welcome from the young man who also was the Carrie B's photographer. My wife had to use a wheelchair because of a fall in the airport prior to getting to Fort Lauderdale. He helped her board the Carrie B and put her at ease during the process. The narrator was exceptional as we cruised and viewed the homes of the millionaires and billionaires along the intracoastal waterway. What a great adventure...don't even give it a second thought...just do it you'll be glad you did.
