We took this cruise a way to quickly see some parts of Fort Lauderdale. It was excellent. We arrived for the 11am cruise and as it was off season the tour was very very quiet. The guide gave lots of information and it was a lovely way to spend 1.5 hours. Some of the houses and yachts are really amazing - it's a different world some some people. We had fun picking the houses/yachts that we would get - if we had a spare $50m.

After getting lucky with prior cruise purchases to Alcatraz, once I had plans to go to Fort Lauderdale I wanted to be sure to have a cruise purchased and planned ahead of time. We found with our letter from the Fort Lauderdale chamber of commerce that you could get two tickets for carrie b cruises for the price of one!! However when I called the long distance number to reserve the tickets, they knew nothing of the coupon. they kept asking for a code that did not appear on the coupon. I left several messages and voice mails for someone to call me back. They did call back but not when I could answer the phone (east coast west coast time difference). I finally got an email that said I was "worrying myself over nothing" because they were sure there would be plenty of seats on the boat for any cruise I wanted, any day I wanted. I thought they did not appreciate tourists from out of town who were trying to make a scheduled arrangement. In the end, we decided their response was cocky, and we did not want to give them our patronage after spending plenty of money in phone calls for nothing.

Took the 11 am tour on the Carrie B. The skipper and "story teller " was Seaton. I say story teller, because he had great stories about the houses along the tour, as well as the boats. He was articulate and provided a good sense of both the history and current status of life in Fort Lauderdale. Upon boarding, someone took our picture . I was pleasantly surprised at the quality and cost. For $10 got a pic as well as a key chain with pic. Highly recommend this hour and a half tour. Print out discount coupon from web.
