Our off-road and hiking tours are not recommended for people with conditions that will be aggravated by bumpy roads. We do our best to keep the bumps to a minimum but some roads are rugged and bumpy and you can expect some jostling.

What To Expect

Capitol Reef National Park

Join us for a drive through Capitol Reefs back country to a scenic paradise of desert landscapes in our luxury 4X4 vehicle through cathedrals, temples, buttes and hoodoos that will get you away from most all of the park’s visitors. We’ll ford the Fremont River and stop at the Bentonite Hills, walk around, take pictures, talk about the geology and history of the area, stop at viewpoints along the way and enjoy the solitude, visit the iconic Temples of the Sun and Moon, see geological oddities such as Glass Mountain and ancient lava flows. This trip has tons of photographic opportunities and is missed by most visitors to Capitol Reef due to its remote location and often times challenging roads. If you're looking for a Jeep tour of Capitol Reef give us a shot, we don't drive Jeep but have more comfortable luxury vehicle to accommodate larger groups, enjoy the air conditioning on those hot summer days or enclosed SUV with a heater for the chilly days! We do winter tours as well.

Jason of Waterpocket Adventures is an excellent outdoor guide with an expert knowledge of the geology and history of the region. The recent rains in the area limited off road access to the average enthusiast but Jason’s in depth knowledge of the area allowed him to safely deliver us to the valley with views of the fold, Temple of the Sun and Moon, As well as the glass mountain! We will plan a return trip next year to explore more if the region with Jason!

Amazing experience! Only addition would be the full tour and Goblins if time allowed. Our itinerary only allowed a half cathedral valley tour with our children: 15,16, & 6. We loved it. Magical and fun. We saw dinosaur bones and all the highlights. Great tour and very memorable. We drove through a river and were completely alone except one other vehicle. So special. Thank you for such a great tour.

This was the absolutely best tour I have ever been on. If you are going to Capital Reef leave your 4x4 or car in the parking lot where you are staying. I can't say enough about this company. You will see things that are just amazing and do it safely with a professional guide.
