Cave Point Kayak Tour

Overview
This kayak tour sets off to see a few of the many precious gems of Door County.

You will experience thousand year old caves, ancient fossils, and Whitefish Dunes State Park.

After an introductory lesson and a calm launch from a location north of Cave Point, you'll follow the coast until seeing the coves of Cave Point County Park where you'll creep along listening to the wonderful sound of the water and enjoying the view of the caves. Then explore the caves with the kayaks, and finally head towards Whitefish Bay Dunes State Park.

At this point, you will turn around and return to the launch location or head to the take-out point at the Whitefish Bay Town boat launch (dependent upon the wind). The caves are not viewable from the land.

Our kayak launch location and close meeting location make our company the #1 reasons to use us for your Cave Point Kayak Tour.

If you are looking for a nice leisure paddle along Lake Michigan, by kayak, you won't go wrong with these guys. They work hard--- three tours a day, paddling with people of every level of kayak experience. The guides are charming, friendly, and kind. It was a beautiful experience, and our guide Jackson was a gracious host. He offered to take our pictures and provided us the opportunity to see the geological formations of the area. It honestly looked like we were out in the Caribbean, and the underwater drop-offs, cliffs, and caves were captivating. These tour guides work hard---- taking three tours a day out onto the lake. I felt we had ample time to experience natural splendor, and even lucky enough to have time to take a jump off of a cliff into the lake. Make sure you take the time to thank these folks, and if you have Jackson on your tour, tell him we'll be back next summer!

This tour was very disappointing. Our tour guide Ethan led off with "I can only speak to 2 things, sleep and kayaking" and he was spot on. He had zero knowledge to share of the area, history, geography, local lore, etc. He spent most of his time tipping over other guides and searching for his phone on the floor of the lake. It was clear the goal was to paddle as fast as possible to the one (1) tiny cave and paddle back. Everyone in our group was exhausted but very little fun had. If you need a ride to the lake and a rental kayak I've got to believe there are less expensive options.

This was terrible we had to kayak 1 mile into the wind in order to see a tiny cave our guide told us that we didn’t have time to cliff dive and didn’t talk to us the whole paddle. This cave could also be accessed by a 25 yard swim from cave point which doesn’t cost 375 dollars for a family. Over promised under delivered I would not recommend this tour to anyone.

The cliff jumping isn’t promised on the 2 hour tour, we recommend the 1/2 day tour for that. We apologize for the weather, not everyone gets glassy conditions. Our guides are trained to give a historical and ecological narrative about the region. We will have a chat with them about why this didn’t happen. As far as the beauty of cave point, our website shows photos and videos of exactly what you would see, so beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Most of our reviews are 5 stars and people love cave points view from the water. We hope your vacation gets better and at least you got a fun workout in ;)
