Central Park Zoo
The zoo is open every day of the year and features three major biomes: the Tropic Zone, Temperate Territory, and the Polar Circle. From tropical birds, to snow leopards, grizzly bears, and one of the nationā€™s largest colonies of Antarctic penguins, there are animals to enjoy in every season. We also feature the Tisch Childrenā€™s Zoo, a playful adventure for our youngest guests whoā€™ll encounter goats, sheep, some of the worldā€™s most unique ducks, and the only cow who calls Manhattan home. Our goal is to inspire our visitors and connect them to the plight of animals in the wild and the conservation work weā€™re doing to protect them.

I enjoyed our visit to the Zoo. I was with my 11-year old niece and she really liked it! There was a small zoo that offered the opportunity to feed goats and sheep for smaller children. There seemed to be a lot of daycare kids there the day we visited. It costs 50 cents to get some pellets of food to feed them. The larger zoo was also fun. There was one exhibit that was closed. I was surprised at the size of the zoo. Obviously not a huge place, but seemed to offer a lot in a small space. The tickets were not terribly expensive for the quality of the facility. It was not overly crowded while we were there which was nice. One visit is probably enough for me. Worth a look in you happen to be in the area!

We were told that admission to the zoo was free, but this was not the case. There are hardly any animals all to see and the size of the zoo is very small. Even if the zoo was free, I wouldn't bother visiting. Visit the Bronx Zoo, it's much better and apparently free on certain days of the week.

A sweet pocket zoo that has a surprising number of creatures in a small footprint. The tropical rainforest and the penguin exhibit were highlights and it was interesting to be able to get so close to the Snow Leopards and the Red Panda.
