Central Park Zoo
The zoo is open every day of the year and features three major biomes: the Tropic Zone, Temperate Territory, and the Polar Circle. From tropical birds, to snow leopards, grizzly bears, and one of the nationā€™s largest colonies of Antarctic penguins, there are animals to enjoy in every season. We also feature the Tisch Childrenā€™s Zoo, a playful adventure for our youngest guests whoā€™ll encounter goats, sheep, some of the worldā€™s most unique ducks, and the only cow who calls Manhattan home. Our goal is to inspire our visitors and connect them to the plight of animals in the wild and the conservation work weā€™re doing to protect them.

Incredibly small zoo with a few exhibits. If youā€™ve got kids that need to be entertained and money burning a hole in your pocketā€¦ go for it. You might be able to spend an hour or two if you walk slowly. The enclosures are nice and it was clean, thereā€™s just not a lot. ( If you want to knock your socks off with a zoo -travel to the Bronx zoo!) When ordering tickets in advance online- which youā€™re required to do- scroll down and youā€™ll find a less expensive option. The full price tickets include some 4D movie, but you can buy lesser tickets and avoid that. Note- they require timed tickets purchased in advance to avoid crowds. When you arrive at your time youā€™re all corralled in this long line to show proof of vaccination and wait to scan to enterā€¦.in a crowd. Ironic thatā€™s it done in the name of social distancingā€¦

Not much to see. I've been to small zoos before, but this zoo has nothing. Saw one monkey, no chetahs, bear exibit was empty. Thank god the two seals were playful. The 10 minute 4D movie was the best part. Its nice for just a walk. Thank god its only $20

We loved the Central Park Zoo! Most animals were easy to see. It's a small zoo, and perfect for a couple of hours in the morning. Buying tickets was confusing. There was a sign at the front that had a QR code we were instructed to scan and buy a timed ticket. Luckily we were able to get tickets immediately - as we did not realize we needed a timed ticket to get in. But after buying a $20 ticket, we saw kiosks where we could get a $14 ticket that did not include the theater (which we knew we did not want to go to as we had limited time). The QR code ticket page did not give us the option for anything but the $20 ticket. But I would definitely do it again - just know there are two different tickets - with the theater and with out, and buy the one you need.
