Old Exchange & Provost Dungeon
Stop by The Old Exchange & Provost Dungeon, one of the most haunted buildings in Charleston. Since the late 1600s, the Exchange and Dungeon have existed in one form or another. Once a walled prison, it has been a haven for those seeking freedom as well as a dark and gruesome spot for prisoners caught on the wrong side of authority.

The ghost tour is a fun and informative way to see a different side of Charleston. Our tour guide, Winston, was knowledgeable and enthusiastic, which added a lot of energy to the tour. My teenage daughters and my cousin, who is a life-long resident of Charleston, all enjoyed the tour and learned new facts about the city. There were a lot of great picture opportunities even if the ghosts were being shy, although we might have caught Beauregard out for a peek at everyone coming by to see his grave. There were many tours crisscrossing our path, but I think we got the best guide in Winston.

After reading reviews of how good this tour was, we booked the Death and Depravity Tour. "No one under 16 because it's too scary" NOT SCARY AT ALL! Save your money. My daughter and I went to a cemetery during the day and after reading on our own, got history and scary stories which were much better. Our tour guide Will took us to only a few places and even then we stood in a parking lot while he told us 'stories". Of 19 people only a couple where interested. It felt like a waste of time.
