Old Exchange & Provost Dungeon

Stop by The Old Exchange & Provost Dungeon, one of the most haunted buildings in Charleston. Since the late 1600s, the Exchange and Dungeon have existed in one form or another. Once a walled prison, it has been a haven for those seeking freedom as well as a dark and gruesome spot for prisoners caught on the wrong side of authority.

I’ve done several ghost tours in Charleston and wanted to take my daughter (8) on her first one. She called it “creepy fun!” Michael was our guide and he told the stories really well and had us hanging on to every word! The only downside (which is not the fault of the guide or company) is that there were sooo many ghost tours happening at the same time. It was a really busy Saturday night so sometimes we had to wait for an area to clear out.
