Combining aspects of Charleston's famous ghost stories with the lesser known haunted tales of the Holy City, the Ghosts of Liberty Tour is a never before seen glimpse at the ghosts of Charleston who, while living, fought so valiantly to keep the city united.

Old Exchange & Provost Dungeon
Stop by The Old Exchange & Provost Dungeon, one of the most haunted buildings in Charleston. Since the late 1600s, the Exchange and Dungeon have existed in one form or another. Once a walled prison, it has been a haven for those seeking freedom as well as a dark and gruesome spot for prisoners caught on the wrong side of authority.

I went in pretty skeptical, not knowing what to expect. I left fully convinced that I had just enjoyed one of the best tour guides Charleston has to offer. If you are lucky enough to catch a tour with Don, rest assured you're in for a fun time with a great balance of history and haunts.

It was a freezing cold, windy night, but Don kept us warmly entertained with stories! He is an amazing storyteller who obviously grew up here and knew everything about Charleston. I canā€™t imagine how he so seamlessly tells these stories with such humor. My husband and I loved the historical lesson, and who knows? Ghosts might come out in warmer weather! I highly recommend this tour!!!!! ( look in the dark window on the bottom row- I see a woman on the very bottom left with her mouth open. Could this be the poisoned bride?) also see woman and man in bottom third of window).

Our tour guide was Don. He was very knowledgeable and passionate about the history of Charleston, almost to a fault as he seemed somewhat arrogant, He constantly mocked all the other tours available within Charleston. In that the tour was restricted for ages 16+, it was expected that topics would be adult oriented. The topics were PG at best but I guess the 16+ age restriction was due to the language the tour guide used throughout the tour. If you werenā€™t offended by that, he even threw in a few F-bombs for good measure. For us, this tour was very disappointing.
