We booked this tour on our first night in Charleston because we were so excited about it. What a mistake. Our trip started out on the wrong foot. We did the 9:30pm Pleasing Terrors Ghost Tour. There was nothing pleasing nor terrifying about it. We were actually bored. We felt that the stories and visual aids that the guide used were exaggerated. The only reason we stayed on the tour is because the guide told us we were on a cliff hanger. To be honest I’m not even sure where the cliff hanger picked up. I am really sorry that I had to write this review but I felt that others should be aware.

Our tour with Mike Brown was awesome. He is a phenomenal storyteller and really weaves the thread of history and creepy things into an engaging story. If your looking for a great ghost tour in Charleston, this is it!

My husband and I recently went to Charleston and I really wanted to do a ghost tour so I signed us up for this one after reading TONS of reviews online. Everyone said this tour was great, not corny, spooky, always given by the same guy Mike Brown, and they were all very correct! So, I *drag* along my husband (who was apprehensive and expecting it to be a waste of time) to this ghost tour, and we BOTH had so much fun!! And I mean fun in the most spooky, creepy, interesting, amazing way possible. Mike told all of his stories in such an intriguing, easy to follow, tell-me-more sort of way, and he always had "solid haunts" and ghost examples to go along with each story. I say "solid" because I've been on tours before where the guide just nonchalantly says "this place is said to be haunted" while pointing to a random building without actually saying WHY it's said to be haunted - but not Mike. Mike definitely tells you why places are thought to be haunted, and even shows pictures here and there to back up claims. 5 stars all the way, would definitely recommend to anyone, ghost believer or not!! Thank you Mike!!
