Jul 2019
First, let me clarify that our experience was for the July 4 fireworks cruise, not one of the regular Saturday night fireworks cruises. My husband and I traveled to Chicago for the July 4 weekend and wanted an easy way to view the holiday fireworks. We scheduled a Wendella cruise and were delighted with our decision. It was by far the best view of fireworks we've ever had in any city we've visited, and there was a nice breeze from the lake to beat the heat, along with fun music to add to the festive mood. Even without the fireworks, though, the trip still would have been worth it just for the stunning views of the Chicago skyline. The informative tour guide was an unexpected bonus. I wasn't expecting this to be a sightseeing cruise, but before and after the fireworks display, our guide provided lots of interesting information about the notable buildings we were seeing.
