We did the 11 AM Art Deco Tour downtown for something different to do in the city. Tour guide was detailed and did a fabulous job telling us what we were going to do on the tour, the history of the buildings and pointing out the 1920's architecture. We stopped at 4 buildings - took a look at the outside while the tour guide gave us the history and had us look at the details. Then she brought us inside and pointed out more features and characteristics of the buildings. She was very thorough and knowledge about the history, details, and significance of the building and people who built and designed them. Started at The Art Institute of Chicago building on Wacker and finished at the Merchandise Mart. In total it took about 1 hour and 45 minutes. If you are looking for something different to do downtown - highly recommend this or one of the other tours.

The CAC tours are all so great, so it was great to do the Art Deco Tour and see another side of the amazing architecture in Chicago. We visited about 5 Art Deco masterpieces and our docent Rebecca explained in depth the history and details of each building. Great tour.

I try to take a CAC tour every time I visit Chicago, and I have never been disappointed. The river tour is a great "starter" tour to get acquainted with Chicago architecture and landmarks. And the walking tours are all uniformly terrific. Great buildings and history--I always learn so much. And I love walking around the city and seeing things differently than I usually do. On this tour, the guide had a microphone/earphone set up, which made it easy for everyone to hear. I will continue to take a tour on every visit to Chicago. Simply wonderful!
