I took the Art Deco Skyscraper tour this week. Marcia was the docent and she was terrific. She explained the features of the Art Deco style by showing us both the exteriors and interiors of several buildings on the walking tour. She also provided interesting anecdotes about Chicago history and the architects of the buildings. I would recommend this tour for both tourists and local Chicagoans... you will learn so much!

We have been on several of the architecture tours but this was one of the best. We love art deco and our tour guide, Priscilla, led us through a great tour of magnificent buildings showing us the common themes and details that make art deco so wonderful and unique. Highly recommended!

This walking tour highlighted a dozen or so buildings in the art deco style. We looked at the outside of most buildings, but went inside a few too. My docent, Charles was engaging and entertaining. He explained the main components of the style and how those elements were used in the particular building. That was interesting, but the best part was the history and stories. It was really fun to get a glimpse into the lives of the people who built and originally occupied the buildings. I highly recommend it if you like history and architecture.
