The Chicago Architecture Center or CAC (formerly the Chicago Architecture Foundation, CAF) is at the south end of the Magnificent Mile near the intersection of Michigan and Wacker.
Tour Guides are trained and certified by the CAC. As volunteers, they are exceptionally motivated, enthusiastic, and capable interpreters of Chicago's world-class architectural legacy. CAC tours are the real deal - narrated, but not scripted, led by Chicago enthusiasts.
Access to building interiors featured on this tour may be subject to change, due to weekend and holiday schedules or unforeseen closures.

The Art Deco Skyscraper tour was one of the highlights of our week-long holiday in Chicago. Our guide was knowledgeable and entertaining, providing expert commentary on the history of the buildings, elements that make up the Art Deco movement, and background on the city. After the tour, I headed back to the Architecture Center and spent some time browsing through the exhibits upstairs and the well-stocked gift shop on the main floor. When I return to the city, another tour will definitely be on my must-do list.

Really thankful to The Chicago Architecture Foundation and our guide Bryan for a lovely tour of Chicago's Art Deco buildings. Absolute unique experience and insight. All of my friends are raving about the photos from the spots we've visited. Chicago has so many hidden treasures that are hard to see unless you know where to look! Highly recommend the tour to those interested in the development of the city, art and just beauty around us. Tour coordination is also great. Headsets are quite handy in a big noisy city. The meeting point is in a very nice, modern building with all the amenities. Which is not always the case for such tours. Bryan also recommended some other buildings to visit and a nice ferry route to take, which I did after the tour! Eventually, it turned out to be a perfect day in Chicago :) Thank you!

The Chicago Architecture Foundation are to be congratulated for promoting Art Deco buildings in the city. This walking tour is one of many that they put on, with the help of volunteers. We were led by Bob and taken on a magical tour lasting 90 minutes where we were told about the Art Deco style, both from the outside and inside of the buildings, several of which were landmark buildings. The use of hearing helpers was essential, as 14 of us marched along pavements and under railway bridges. A highly recommended tour for both amateurs and experts in architecture.
