Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol was first published in 1843, and its story about a man tormented by a series of ghosts the night before Christmas belonged to a once-rich, now mostly forgotten tradition of telling ghost stories on Christmas Eve. Dickens’ supernatural yuletide terror was no outlier since for much of the 19th century, was the holiday indisputably associated with ghosts and specters. *

I had an interesting time on this history and imaginative ghost tour. Garrett did a fantastic job. He was very enthusiastic.. We had a large group and he spoke loudly and asked many times if our group of about 20 could hear. I thought it may be a little more A Christmas Carol festive Did not disappoint with complimentary, apple cider, hot chocolate, coffee and Biscotti cookies.

This tour is not as advertised. I had nothing to do with Christmas. Our young guide was a good storyteller, if a bit awkward, and he did wear a red Christmas jacket. Other than that nothing at all Christmas. Or maybe that came in the last 30 minutes. Because by that time we called an Uber and given up. It was during a 10 minute description of what kind of suffering you have if you got yellow fever…. So got me in the Christmas spirit…. A ton of time was also spent trying to get people to ask for tarot card readings. Which I never enjoy, but especially if he has to look up the cards in a book and read from it once the card is drawn and then act like an expert hearing wisdom from beyond. Hokey. The photos shown here have nothing to do with the experience. Buyer beware.

We are so sorry that you arrived late and did not receive the Christmas intoroduction and refreshments, this would have given you the complete experience. Have a Merry Christmas!

I was excited for this tour since I took a similar tour the first time I visited Savannah but they should give you a bit of a warning. If you are squeamish, this isn’t for you. They provide excellent historical facts but also give very detailed descriptions of the events that took place in the haunted areas. They also take you places were satanic rituals took place which is the main reason I left the tour early. I don’t like to interfere with anything revolving satanic rituals. This is something they would warn you before booking. Also that you might be affected physically by any of the haunted places you may visit. One of the people in my tour party fainted without a reason and an ambulance had to be called. The person was in good health after the incident. They didn’t continue with the tour.
