Joining Discover Richmond Tours means exploring Church Hill in a unique way. You will sample delicious food and snacks from up to 5 different restaurants, cafes, and bakeries, possibly including wood-fired pastries, classic Richmond comfort food, authentic Ethiopian Fare, and more! You’ll learn about the birthplace of Richmond and it’s heroes, and hear how our partner merchants got their start. But most of all, we’ll make sure you have fun doing it.

Be sure to bring water and comfortable shoes – we’ll be standing at most of our stops, and we’ll be in and out too quickly for water and other beverages to be served.

Lots of food on this one. Fair amount of walking but nice to see the historic places. We had 11 people on our tour so it was nice to mingle with others from other places. We are from Smithfield. This was our second food tour from Discover Richmond.

Although we've done many food tours when traveling, we'd never done one in our hometown of Richmond. There are so many great restaurants in the area but we really hadn't explored Church Hill so we decided to take the food tour there. Dilwyn was our guide and he was excellent. He gave us some history of the area as we walked, which was interesting. We did an afternoon tour which included stops for coffee, an Ethiopian restaurant (never had Ethiopian food before and we were pleasantly surprised!), a wine tasting, a savory pie, a chocolate croissant and finally, a hot chicken slider. These were full servings, not just small tastes. Some of these places are just picking back up after Covid and I'm thankful they made it through the tough times that all restaurants have faced in the past couple years. I'd highly recommend this tour and look forward to some of the other tours this company offers in Richmond.

Had a wonderful time on the Church Hill Food Tour! Ease of booking was amazing and all staff that we dealt with, including our amazing guide, Jess, were awesome. What a wonderful way to see the area and learn about the history and neighborhood. As others have said, arrive hungry as the food portions are generous and delicious. I highly recommend this tour.
