Columbia River Gorge Tour from Portland

Overview
A half hour east of Portland can be found the Columbia river Gorge, Multnomah falls and some of the most magnificent scenery in the country; skyscraper cliffs, giant sturgeon, and majestic waterfalls. During the last ice age, a cataclysmic event occurred, that left a lasting monument along the path of the mighty Columbia River. A great flood sheared away the land, leaving stone cliffs and water falls that form the world famous “Columbia River Gorge”. View the majesty from the Vista House atop 800 foot sheer rock cliffs, see Multnomah Falls, the second tallest year round waterfall in the country, or witness the free-falling splendor of Latourell Falls. In the autumn, witness salmon spawning in nearby Eagle Creek.

Booked the morning tour for 2 for a trip to Portland in mid October. Peter was friendly, shared lots of interesting facts, and didn't rush us. It turned out no one else had booked the tour for that morning so he picked us up in a Land Rover and it became a private tour. I liked that he was knowledgeable, easy going, and professional. And that it's a small operation run by him and his dad. If I'm back in Portland I'll definitely consider trying one of their other tours.

We had a very relaxing, information packed tour of the Columbia River Gorge. Learned a lot, and the scenery was fantastic. Peter was a fun, knowledgeable, and easy going guy, and I’d highly recommend this tour to anyone who is not familiar with the area.

This tour by far beats the do-it-yourself option. Not only will you avoid driving on unfamiliar roads, you’ll enjoy hearing historical and relevant information from a fantastic guide. Peter provided us with fun facts about Portland and the surrounding areas. His expertise gave us the guidance we needed to completely enjoy every stop. We had a much richer experience of the Columbia River Gorge thanks to the professionalism and enthusiasm of this tour operation.
