Comb Jelly Bioluminescence Kayak Tour

Overview
In the cooler Florida months, bioluminescent Comb Jellies congregate in the protected waters of the Indian River Lagoon. Living in the most bio-diverse estuary in North America, Comb Jellies are clear, glob-like creatures that, despite their name, do not sting! So as you paddle the calm waters laced with mangroves and palm trees, you can catch and hold these gentle glowing creatures. They're right at your fingertips while having a safe, awe-inspiring kayak adventure with those who share your enthusiasm for new and unique experiences.

In addition to the stars, the myriad of protected wildlife around you, and the Comb Jelly’s bioluminescence, their “ribs” are lined with cilia that they use to propel themselves, so when you cast a flashlight on them just right, they’ll also refract a dynamic rainbow-y light show! They’re right at your fingertips while having a safe, awe-inspiring kayak adventure with those who share your enthusiasm for unique experiences.

My husband and I had a great time Kayaking with Nikki and Michael along the Merritt Island Wildlife Refuge. Nikki was very informative about the comb jellies as well as the bioluminescence. We caught several comb jellies and were able to hold them in our hands. Michael then collected them in a mason jar and after our tour shined a light on them so we could see the various cilia. It was pretty amazing! Thanks Nikki and Michael for a great Kayaking experience!!!

Although no sightseeing on the comb jelly's we seen God's creation like no other as the water glowed. It was a beautiful adventure. The thrill was when we were on out way back and it started to rain. The waves were chopping but not too rough. An excellent guide, Jess knew alot of great information and answered all questions. Her other guides David and Michael were super as well. We went with two other couples and are looking forward to coming back next year in July to see the water really glow. The stars we're large and beautiful 😍

We loved this tour, and our guides. The videos they have on the website with the jellies are no exaggeration. Do not hesitate, book your tour now! We had a 4 year old with us, so I'd highly recommend this if your child will be semi-still in the kayak. If not, still no worries, they have on a life jacket and the water was warm :)
