Comb Jelly Bioluminescence Kayak Tour

Overview
In the cooler Florida months, bioluminescent Comb Jellies congregate in the protected waters of the Indian River Lagoon. Living in the most bio-diverse estuary in North America, Comb Jellies are clear, glob-like creatures that, despite their name, do not sting! So as you paddle the calm waters laced with mangroves and palm trees, you can catch and hold these gentle glowing creatures. They're right at your fingertips while having a safe, awe-inspiring kayak adventure with those who share your enthusiasm for new and unique experiences.

In addition to the stars, the myriad of protected wildlife around you, and the Comb Jelly’s bioluminescence, their “ribs” are lined with cilia that they use to propel themselves, so when you cast a flashlight on them just right, they’ll also refract a dynamic rainbow-y light show! They’re right at your fingertips while having a safe, awe-inspiring kayak adventure with those who share your enthusiasm for unique experiences.

It was incredible! Half moon out, far away cloud lightening show and mullets swimming everywhere! Stars galore! So much fun! The bioluminescence was amazing Yes, there are mosquitos and 'no see em's' but that's nature, We wore leggings/tights, long pants, long sleeves. Sprayed our bodies before putting on our clothes.

I truly enjoyed my night on the water and at the brewery. I was a little unsure about going alone but everyone was so friendly and easy to talk with. It was so cool to catch the comb jellyfish!

My husband and I really enjoyed the educational component of the tour. Our guide was very knowledgeable. The ratio of 3 guide boats to 12 customer boats seemed very good, and we did a "role call" twice during the tour to ensure everyone was still present. The moon was 1 week from full, so we didn't pick the best night (new moon better). Still we enjoyed viewing the bioluminescence and comb jellies. My only star subtraction is for the entire crowd waiting on folks that don't arrive on time. We waited on the water near shore for 20 minutes while late-comers arrived and received their briefing and PFDs. The instructions clearly state to arrive 15 minutes early for check-in.
