As well, you'll be accompanied by a guide well-versed in the area History, Flora & Fauna and geologic formation of the Great lakes and Dune formations. Sleeping Bear is fantastic in and of itself, but having a guide to explain everything from the Native Tribes that once roamed the area, to the geologic forces that leave us with the Great Lakes we know today, greatly enhances ours guests visit to Sleeping Bear. Oh, and guests rave about our catered lunch. It's delicious!

Walking is required to access the vista at Empire Bluffs. The trail is designated as "Easy". Expect to walk 1.5 miles over a dirt and sand Trail.

Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore

A guided tour of Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. Tour includes round trip transportation from Traverse City with snacks and drinks provided. Stops include an easy walk out to Empire Bluffs, Scenic Pierce Stocking Drive, Lake Michigan overlook, Glen Lke overlook, Sleeping Bear Dune overlook, Lunch on the beach in the village of Empire, Dune Climb, Historic Village of Glen Haven and Glen Arbor.

Breathtaking scenic overlooks across different sites in the park. Matt is a terrific guide & shared both the history - from Native Americans though recent times - and the geology/ecology of the park! This guided tour is a ‘must do’ to really enjoy & appreciate the beauty of this stunning lakeside park.

We booked a tour of Sleeping Bear Dunes several months in advance for Memorial Day weekend. Two hours prior to our 10 AM pick up, we were notified that that our Up North tour was cancelled because all drivers in the company manifested COVID symptoms that morning. We were told that a refund would provided and discount would be provided for a future tour. One star was given only because a refund was indeed issued. No discount was provided, and no one from the company reached out to us again after the initial phone call. We understand the unpredictable nature of COVID. However, a good company handles unpredictable situations with grace, good communication and customer service.

While we understand the disappointment in having the tour cancelled, we cannot put a sick guide out on tour. The guide in question called in the morning of the tour to informing us of a positive test result. No other guides were available. We called the customer to inform them of the cancellation and issued an immediate refund in full. The customer was offered a discount on a future trip due to the inconvenience. The customer responded by email saying, "I expect a full refund ASAP." We feel this review is quite unfair in that it does not address the tour. We encourage potential guests to read reviews of customers who have actually participated on a tour.

Matt was best guide I've ever had on a day tour. He is over the top friendly and very knowledgeable on the history of Sleeping Bear Dunes. The lunch included on the tour was a nice surprise. A great way to spend an afternoon.
